This year the Croydon Heritage Festival is focused not only on the town’s rich heritage and its current form but also on what great things may come in the future. Croydon is on the cusp of major change and today’s young will reap the rewards of the success of all these changes.

To celebrate the future Time Won’t Wait are working together with Speaker’s Corner Committee Croydon, with funding from the National Lottery and the Big Lottery Fund, to present Changing Places: “If I Ruled the World…” a bold, fun and inspiring event for the whole family. The event will see around 20 young people take to the stage in North End to give their first public address; telling the town of their vision of the future – their hopes, dreams and ambitions. The orators have received public speaking training and are all set to offer the world their thoughts.

As well as some brilliant views of the future, Saturday the 27th will see a number of other events in North End including the Croydon Partnership Enterprise Event. Held in Centrale, the Enterprise Event offers teams from four local schools the opportunity to turn business ideas into reality, with the help of seed-funding. Head over to the stalls to see what is being created and check if the teams’ products get you reaching for your wallet.
